Ikigai Way

Ikigai: Blogging the Martial Way is a Wordpress powered blog created early 2008. The subject matter encompasses many aspects of the martial arts, including technique, philosophy, self defense, and combat. The Ikigai design needed to express both the mental and physical aspects of the martial arts in an engaging way. The author, Matthew Apsokardu, had an established emblem he wanted to work into the header (an oak tree containing a classic tri-bladed martial arts symbol), so the design was built around that core concept. The shadowy sword figure represents the authors experience in swordsmanship, while the deep sky entices visitors to be introspective while reading.

Ventura's Greenhouse Website

Ventura's Greenhouse is a bar and restaurant located in Margate City, NJ. With it's history dating back approximately 100 years, the Greenhouse has received a few face lifts over the years. I was brought on to rejuvenate the look of their website & logo and incorporate new features, while keeping the site basic and to the point.

Upper Uwchlan Township Website

This was an overhaul project bringing Upper Uwchlan Township's website from a single page, text document setup into the dynamic source of information that it is today. I had to create a basic and straightforward user-interface that allowed both employers and residences to navigate with ease, no matter their computer skill level. I also created a custom content management system (CMS) to control the site.

Music OnDemand Website

Music OnDemand was a search and play plug-in for Windows Media Player. My job while interning at Centale was to create a Flash-based website for the plug-in. Apparently, the company no longer exists, so to access the site I had to call in the help of the Wayback Machine.

This application was a backend application which allowed the internship coordinator to administer all the possible internships, delete them, modify them, and add more. She still uses it everyday!
